The easiest way to deal with pimples is to prevent them from ever happening (you can learn about the best way to prevent pimples at the bottom of this article), but we all know that sometimes pimples surface no matter what we do. The best way to get rid of a pimple fast is one of two easy methods:
Freezing Method – Use this method only if your zit has not yet broke the surface of your skin yet – meaning it is an inflammation beneath the skin, no white head or oozing.
– Before you do anything else, cleanse your face like normal with an acne wash
–Immediately after cleansing your face, apply an ice pack to the pimple. If you don’t have an ice pack, you can make one yourself out of crushed ice, some foil, and a ziplock bag.
–Leave the ice on the pimple for 10 minutes
–As soon as the time has passed or you can’t take the cold anymore, you can remove the ice pack and immediately rub some benzoyl peroxide on the zit.
–Do this entire process again in 2 hours
How does this treatment work? Well, the freezing of the zit keeps the bacteria from spreading, thus creating a bigger zit. Then the acne treatment cream dries out the remaining bacteria. If done properly, your pimple will be gone within 24 hours!
Hot Water Method – This method should be used only when you have a zit that is a white or black head, or has broken the surface of the skin in any way.
–Cleanse your face with an acne cleanser
–Soak a washcloth (or cotton ball, paper towel) in hot water
–Use the washcloth on your pimple for at least 20-30 minutes, resoaking it in hot water again when needed.
–When you can no longer stand the hot water, pat the skin dry with a towel
–Now its time to pop the zit and get all that bacteria out of there. Be extremely careful when popping that you don’t put downward pressure on the zit, as this could influence dirt and oil further inside the pimple to make it worse.
–After popping the zit, immediately apply an acne spot treatment cream in order to eliminate the oils that leaked out when popping
This method takes a little longer than the ice pack method, but it still works! Both of these methods should take no more than 25 minutes to do.
