The first thing that you need to know to prevent acne is its triggers. If there’s an external or internal factor that lead to a breakout, you must know about it. Acne can affect anyone of 16 to 40 years of age. However, it is commonest among people between the age group of 12 to 24 years. Not only age but also your genes play a role in causing an acne breakout. If any of your parents have been influenced by this skin condition then there are possibilities that you may also fall prey to it.
Though a few urban myths state that acne results from unhealthy skin care or consumption of sweets and oil rich foodstuff, in reality the disease has hardly anything to do with these things. Rather, it is started by overactive oil glands present in the skin. When the amassed oil combines with dead cells and acne causing bacteria, acne breaks out on your skin.
Though there is not any warranted approach to stop acne, you can take certain actions to attempt to stop it or at least control it successfully.
First and foremost is to follow a healthy skin care regime. Clean your skin and remove the dead skin cells so that they may not be able to clog your skin pores. While you wash remember that over washing is also of no good. It may dry out your skin and aggravate the present spots further. After you’ve had your workout, wash your face immediately so that sweat may not clog your pores. Also, if you’ve been in contact with oil or have been working conscientiously, wash out your face right after that.
