Though acne is not a deadly disease, it is still considered a big issue by some individuals and must be treated immediately. Acne is a skin complication that does not consider gender, race, culture and even age of the person. During puberty, the body begins to manufacture testosterone and thus the skin is greatly at risk to acne. The reason for this is the body begins to secrete bodily oil after it produces testosterone. Too much secretion can cause clogging on the skin pores and thus the formation of acne.

Production of too many skin cells can also cause acne. The body produces too many skin cells due to retention hyperkeratosis. In this condition, the body cannot properly shed off dead skin cells. As a result, the dead skin cells build up on the skin pores causing acne.

Aside from internal causes, the pollution in the air and the environment can also cause acne. Pollution helps in the production of bacteria on the skin. If these bacteria grow and infect the surface of the skin, acne will be developed.

In some situations, the root of the problem is serious. Severe cystic acne is developed if the causes are serious. This acne appears so dreadful and quite alarming.

Severe cystic acne is the outcome of badly affected skin pores with oil, dirt and bacteria. The ugly sign of severe cystic acne is hard to handle because oil, dirt and bacteria lodge deep within the skin. As a result, normal skin treatment products cannot eliminate it.

In severe cystic acne, the bacteria grow deep in the skin and thus they have constant supply of food. To treat this acne, consult a dermatologist immediately before the bacteria outgrow.
